Privacy Policy
Mintza is a language tutor you talk with, developed and operated by Paintingstack. Because your lessons are real conversations, Mintza needs an account and some data on our servers. This policy explains what we collect, what we don’t, and the control you have.
What we collect
- Account identity: when you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email (or Apple’s private relay email) to identify your account across devices.
- Profile data: your language preferences, level, topics, voice selection, and personal notes, stored on our servers to personalize your conversations.
- Subscription data: your subscription tier and purchase status, validated through the App Store or Google Play.
- Usage data: session count and duration, to enforce minute limits and improve the product. We also record the IP address of a session to prevent abuse, and the country to understand where the app is used.
- Support messages: if you write to us from the app, we keep your message so we can help and keep a record.
- Notification tokens: if you turn on notifications, so we can send them.
How your voice is handled
During a conversation, your voice is streamed in real time to Google Gemini to generate replies. We do not store, record, or keep your voice audio. A brief teacher-side summary of the conversation is kept so you can pick up where you left off.
Third-party services

- Apple Sign-In and Google Sign-In handle sign-in. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- The App Store and Google Play handle subscription billing. We never see your card details.
Analytics and crash reporting
We use usage analytics and crash reporting that run on our own servers. They use a random ID and structural data only, never your conversations, your voice, your name, or your email, and there is no cross-app tracking.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell your data, or share it with advertisers or data brokers
- We don’t show ads
- We don’t use third-party tracking
- We don’t store your voice recordings
- We don’t collect your precise location, contacts, or photos
Your control
You can delete your account and all personal data in the app: Account > Delete all data (if you have an active subscription, cancel it first). It is immediate and removes your personal data, including your email, name, profile, and conversation content. We keep a de-identified sign-in identifier to prevent repeated free-trial signups, along with anonymized billing and session records we are required to keep, and the support messages you sent us, kept as a record of any request or dispute. Account deletion cannot be undone. If you ever lose access to the app, email privacy@paintingstack.com and we’ll delete your account for you, usually within a few days.
