Does Undertone need an internet connection?
No. Undertone works fully offline. Every analysis runs on your device, with no connection and no account.
What devices is Undertone available on?
iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Android. Your Premium unlock carries to every device signed in to the same App Store or Google Play account.
Is Undertone free, and what does Premium add?
Yes, free to start. You can analyze as many images as you like and use the Original, Temperature, Values, and Saturation modes, with the color palette and harmony for every image, and keep your last 20 analyses. Premium adds the Composition and Contrast modes, tinted value bands with adjustable tonal levels, and unlimited history.
Is Undertone a subscription?
No. Premium is a single one-time purchase, yours for life, with no subscription and no recurring charge. The price is shown in the app in your local currency.
How do I analyze an image?
Tap the add button and either take a Photo or Import one from your library. Undertone reads its colors and opens the analysis, where you can switch between the modes.
What do the analysis modes show me?
Each mode reveals a different layer of the same image. Original is the untouched photo, Temperature maps warm against cool, Values strips it to light and dark, and Saturation shows where color is vivid and where it has gone muted. Composition overlays guides like the golden ratio and rule of thirds, and Contrast shows where the eye lands first. Every image also gets its color palette and harmony. Composition and Contrast come with Premium.
How do I export or share an analysis?
Open an analysis and tap the share button. Undertone exports a PNG of the current mode with the palette or value bar along the bottom. Export is free for everyone.
How do I delete an analysis?
Open the analysis and tap the delete button, or use the menu on its card in your history. We ask you to confirm first, because a deleted analysis cannot be undone. To clear everything at once, use Delete All Data in Settings.
Where are my analyses saved, and are they backed up?
On your device only. There is no account and no cloud, so they are not backed up automatically, and uninstalling Undertone removes them. To keep a copy or move one to another device, export it.
Are my photos sent to a server?
No. Every analysis runs on your device and your photos never leave your phone. We collect anonymous usage stats to improve the app, never your images, and a screenshot is only ever sent if you attach one to feedback yourself.
How do I restore my purchase?
On a new device or after reinstalling, open Settings, go to Get Premium, and tap Restore Purchases, signed in to the App Store or Google Play account that bought Premium. Premium is yours for life on every device tied to that account.
