Real Pixels, Not an AI Guess

You want to turn an image into pixel art. So you try the apps. One redraws it with AI until it is a generic picture in colors you would never pick. The next hits you with a weekly paywall before you can even save. A third buries the result under ads and stamps a watermark across it.

Koadro does none of that. It takes your actual image and pixelates it with honest math, a real downscale, not a guess. You choose how big the pixels are and how many colors they use.

The palette is your choice. The detail is your choice. Nothing is guessed, nothing is invented. You are not accepting what an app decided the picture should look like, you are building it, pixel by pixel, out of the image you started with.

Everything happens on your device. No account, no cloud, no ads. Pay once, and it is yours.

A machine can guess at a picture. Koadro rebuilds it, one honest pixel at a time.

Koadro has no account to create and no cloud to upload to. Your images, your pixel art, and your projects all stay on your device. They are never sent to us, because we have no server to send them to.

To keep the app working well, Koadro sends anonymous usage statistics and crash reports, no images, no account, no way to identify you. You can read exactly what leaves the device on our privacy page.

We built Koadro this way on purpose. Your photos are personal. They should stay that way.

Common Questions

Is Koadro an AI app?

No. Koadro pixelates your actual image with honest math, not a generative model. It does not redraw the picture or invent a new one. It reduces your real image to a grid of real pixels in the colors you choose, so what comes out is what went in, not a stranger the way AI redraw apps often produce.

How do I turn a photo into pixel art?

Open Koadro, pick any image from your gallery or take a photo with the camera. Crop and rotate it, then set the resolution and the number of colors. Choose a palette Koadro reads from the image, or pick one yourself. The preview updates live as you adjust, and you export when it looks right.

Is Koadro free, and what does Premium add?

Yes, free to start. The free tier turns any image into pixel art, with crop and rotate, every palette, every texture and dither, resolution up to 128 cells, up to 16 colors, export up to 1024px, and up to five saved projects. Koadro Premium is a single one-time purchase, no subscription, and unlocks the full range: up to 256 cells, up to 64 colors, the mosaic (triangle, diamond, and hexagon tiles), real-size printing in centimeters or inches, full-resolution export up to 4096px, your own custom palettes, unlimited projects, and saved presets you can reapply in one tap.

What is the mosaic?

The mosaic rebuilds your image out of tessellating tiles, triangles, diamonds, or hexagons, instead of square pixels. Each tile takes the flat color of the area it covers, so the result reads as a real mosaic rather than a grid. Square and triangle tiles are free; the diamond and hexagon mosaics are Premium.

What is dithering and when should I use it?

Dithering scatters pixels of two colors to suggest a shade between them, so gradients and skin tones read smoothly even with a small palette. Koadro uses Floyd-Steinberg dithering. Turn it on when you want soft transitions rather than hard bands of color. Every texture, including dithering, is free.

Does Koadro upload my photos to the cloud?

No. Your images and pixel art stay on your device. Koadro needs no account and has no cloud storage. It sends anonymous usage statistics and crash reports to help improve the app, and nothing else leaves your phone. Your images are never uploaded.

What platforms does Koadro support?

Koadro runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Android. The same purchase unlocks Premium on every device linked to your App Store or Google Play account.

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Open Koadro, go to Settings, and tap Restore Purchase. Your purchase is tied to your App Store or Google Play account and transfers to any device signed in with the same account.
