Koadro Koadro

Help & FAQ

Is Koadro free, and what does Premium add?

Yes, Koadro is free to start. You can turn any photo into pixel art, set the resolution up to 128 cells, use up to 16 colors, pick from every built-in palette, add dithering and textures, lay your art out as square or triangle tiles, crop and rotate, export a PNG up to 1024px, and keep up to five saved projects. Premium unlocks full resolution up to 256 cells, up to 64 colors, the diamond and hexagon mosaics, real-size printing in centimeters or inches, full-resolution export up to 4096px, unlimited projects, saving your own templates, and building custom palettes by hand.

Is Koadro a subscription?

No. Premium is a single one-time purchase, yours for life, with no subscription and no recurring charge. The price is shown in the app in your local currency.

What devices is Koadro available on?

iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Android. The same purchase unlocks Premium on every device signed in to your App Store or Google Play account.

Does Koadro need an internet connection?

No. Koadro turns your photos into pixel art right on your device, with no account and no sign-in. You only need a connection the first time you buy or restore Premium, since that goes through the App Store or Google Play.

How do I turn a photo into pixel art?

On the Projects screen, tap the + button and choose Photo library or Camera. Each photo becomes its own project and opens in the editor, where you set the resolution and palette and watch it turn into pixel art. You can crop and rotate the photo there too.

How do I set the resolution and number of colors?

In the editor, use the Resolution slider to set how many cells the art has along its longest side, and the Colors slider to set how many colors it uses. Fewer cells and fewer colors give a chunkier, more classic pixel look. The free version goes up to 128 cells and 16 colors; Premium goes up to 256 cells and 64 colors.

What is the Mosaic?

The Mosaic rebuilds your photo out of tessellating tiles instead of square pixels, so the same picture can be made of triangles, diamonds, or hexagons. Square and triangle tiles are free; the diamond and hexagon mosaics are a Premium feature.

How do I export or share my pixel art?

Open a project and tap Export. On Android you can save straight to your photo gallery or share it anywhere; on iPhone, iPad, and Mac you save or share through the system dialog. The free version exports a PNG up to 1024px on the longest side. Premium exports at full resolution up to 4096px, and can set a real canvas and pixel size in centimeters or inches so you can print it at a true size.

Where are my projects saved, and are they backed up?

On your device only. There is no account and no cloud, so they are not backed up automatically, and uninstalling Koadro removes them. To keep a copy, export the ones you want to your photos.

Are my photos sent to a server?

No. Everything happens on your device and your photos never leave it. We collect anonymous usage stats to improve the app, never your photos or your pixel art, and a screenshot is only ever sent if you attach one to feedback yourself.

How do I restore my purchase?

On a new device or after reinstalling, open Settings and tap Restore purchase on the Premium card, signed in to the App Store or Google Play account that bought Premium. Premium is yours for life on every device tied to that account.
